Welcome to our School Council
Our School Council has representatives from Year One to Year Six. They play an important role in helping to make decisions in our school about our curriculum, special events, visitors, charity work and new equipment and resources that we may need.
Our School council work with the children in their classes on a regular basis to look at a wide variety of issues, and then to report back to our Head Teacher on things they would like to develop. Sometimes Mr Stephenson asks the School Council to talk about issues that the school wants to develop.
The School Council gives our children a voice in deciding how our school runs, and how we want to develop this in the future. Each year the children themselves elect a new School Council through a democratic voting system. We believe that pupil voice is an extremely important part of the day to day running of our school.
Major school improvements that the children have had an active voice and role in developing have been the re-decoration of our KS1 and KS2 toilet areas, planning for our 50th Anniversary celebrations and deciding what kinds of PE activities and resources they would like to use our “Sport Premium Funding” for – this has resulted in wonderful new markings for our school yard and a fantastic Trim Trail for all of our children to use within PE lessons and as part of various clubs as well as playtimes/lunchtimes. Coming from the interests of our children, we are continuing to introduce the ‘Forest Schools’ curriculum into the academic year 2020-2021 and beyond.

School Council Meetings
We would usually have regular School Council meetings every term to discuss current issues but unfortunately our school council is not currently in operation as we are unable to mix children from different class bubbles due to COVID-19.
